Job Description:


A career opportunity is available as a report designer within the Monitoring & Governance team. In this role you will be part of a small cross discipline team of high performing business analysts and software engineers that drives the next generation of monitoring and oversight across Chase Card Services Marketing Growth & Innovation (MG&I). You will assess new requirements for reporting and deliver solutions in the form of new or enhanced control reports. You will be part of a team that explores and analyzes new data sources, formulates solutions to ensure disparate data sources are accessible and provides internal training on how to access and utilize the data. You will identify and share insights learned from the data with process owners and senior leadership. The ideal candidate will have proven data gathering and manipulating experience with a strong foundation in data analytics and reporting.


Responsibilities




  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand requests for new control reports and enhancements to existing reports. Research, evaluate and recommend solutions to satisfy those requirements.




  • Gather and analyze complex data to recommend a design for reporting to meet the needs of the business process




  • Partner with business analysts and business process owners to model, design, develop, code, test, debug, document and implement control reports into the production environment through standard processes.




  • Conduct design and code reviews in compliance with standards set forth by the team and technical leads




  • Participate in user acceptance testing process to ensure developed report fulfills business requirements




  • Provide production support of existing control reports as needed




  • Comply with all technical and process controls to ensure a stable and secure production platform




  • Frequently resolves project / complex assignments with little supervision




  • Ensure projects are completed according to established timelines



  • Maintain strong communication with team and business process owners with regards to the progress of development efforts


Qualifications




  • 3+ years of experience developing in advanced SQL (PL/SQL, T/SQL, PostgreSQL or similar)




  • 3+ years of experience developing in advanced SAS (Base 9.4 preferred) on a Unix platform




  • Demonstrated Microsoft Office proficiency including Access and Excel skills for data analysis, PowerPoint skills for executive reports creation, Word and Visio for process documentation




  • Strong analytical skills are critical




  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential




  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task and must be a team player




  • Comfortable in a fast dynamic environment




  • Self-motivated individual with demonstrated ability to work independently




  • General desire and aptitude to learn and adapt to new technologies




  • Ability to participate in cross-functional teams and interact with all levels




  • Experience with Teradata or Oracle is strongly preferred




  • Familiarity with creating and deploying reports with a Business Intelligence (BI) tool (examples include, but not limited to, SSRS, Tableau, MicroStrategy, Clickview) is preferred




  • Familiarity with sourcing and compiling data from a tool with Extract / Transform / Load (ETL) capabilities (examples include, but not limited to, SSIS, Alteryx, Trifacta, Ab Initio, R, SAS) is preferred




  • Credit Card industry experience is a plus



  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work/training required
